A. Job Title: Business Development Manager

B. Duties:

  1. Develop and implement the company’s international business development strategy, focusing on expanding student recruitment for Cambridge Dream’s summer programmes and the UK Artificial Intelligence Olympiad (IAIO UK / UKAIO), with particular emphasis on the Chinese and wider Asian markets.
  2. Identify, develop and maintain long-term partnerships with schools, education agents, STEM institutions and related organisations to drive enrolment in both the summer school programmes and the IAIO UK national competition pathway.
  3. Conduct market research and competitor analysis related to international education and AI/STEM competitions, and provide recommendations to senior management on new market opportunities and programme growth.
  4. Manage key existing client, school and agency accounts for both Cambridge Dream summer programmes and IAIO UK, ensuring high renewal rates, strong relationships and successful participant recruitment.
  5. Represent Cambridge Dream and IAIO UK at education fairs, agent conferences, STEM events and networking activities, and work closely with the internal team to convert partnerships into successful student participation and programme delivery.

C. Salary: £55,200-£60,000 per annum (37.5 hours per week)

D. Qualifications, Skills and Experience Requirements

Essential:

  1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business, Marketing, Education, International Relations, Computer Science or a related discipline.
  2. Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in business development, partnership management or international student recruitment, ideally within the education, summer programmes or STEM-related sectors.
  3. Proven track record of successfully developing new markets, building sustainable partner networks and delivering measurable growth in enrolment or revenue.
  4. Demonstrable experience in driving innovation and achieving recognised professional accomplishments in technology-enabled education or digital solutions.
  5. Strong understanding of the Chinese education market and established networks with schools, agents and institutional partners.
  6. Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills in both English and Mandarin.
  7. Ability to work independently and proactively in a small, agile organisation, taking full ownership of targets and initiatives.

Desirable:

  1. Experience contributing to the development of innovative educational or technology-related projects that have gained external recognition.
  2. Previous involvement in STEM, AI-related or academic competition programmes.
  3. Familiarity with the UK independent education sector, university preparation pathways or international Olympiad frameworks.
  4. Evidence of creative problem-solving and the ability to turn innovative ideas into practical, market-ready initiatives.
  5. Willingness to travel occasionally within the UK and internationally for partnership development and events.

A. Job Title: Purchasing Manager

B. Duties:

  1. Lead strategic procurement and supplier management for summer programmes, IAIO UK competitions, and all operational needs, including venues, accommodation, catering, equipment, and technical services.
  2. Build and optimise a robust supplier resource pool, negotiate contracts, and secure competitive pricing while maintaining high quality and service standards.
  3. Ensure timely resource planning and delivery to support large-scale seasonal events, proactively resolving supply chain disruptions and guaranteeing operational continuity.
  4. Draft, review, and manage supplier contracts, ensuring full compliance with UK regulations, GDPR, health & safety, and education sector requirements.
  5. Develop and implement procurement risk management strategies and business continuity plans to mitigate supply risks for high-impact international programmes.
  6. Collaborate closely with programme, operations, and finance teams to drive cost efficiency, provide procurement insights, and support overall budget control and business growth.

C. Salary: £50,000-£60,000 per annum (37.5 hours per week)

D. Qualifications, Skills and Experience Requirements

  1. Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in procurement and supply chain management, with a proven track record as a Procurement Manager, Purchasing Lead, or Category Executive Group (CEG) Lead in a multinational or complex organizational environment.
  2. Demonstrated expertise in supplier relationship management (SRM), contract negotiation, and strategic sourcing, with the ability to design and implement supplier resource pools, selection frameworks, and sourcing playbooks.
  3. Exceptional negotiation, risk management, and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to balance cost efficiency, quality assurance, and operational continuity.
  4. Fluent in English (business negotiation level) and Mandarin Chinese speaker, with the ability to effectively coordinate with international suppliers, headquarters, and cross-regional stakeholders.
  5. Bachelor’s degree or above in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Management, or a related discipline. Strong project management, cross-functional collaboration, and stakeholder influencing skills are required.

Working at Cambridge Dream last summer was fantastic. As a mentor, I was able to experience a virtual reality workshop, visit the London Dungeons and judge a Model United Nations debate, all whilst working alongside interesting and passionate students from across the world. I learnt new techniques for teaching mixed ability groups, and encouraging the best from my students. I feel my students really grew in confidence during the course, which will stand them in better stead for university education. They definitely improved their ability to volunteer answers to questions they weren’t sure about, and challenge the ideas and opinions of their peers.

Working at Cambridge dream was great! It was an excellent opportunity to meet wonderful international students and fantastic Cambridge students as well as experience Cambridge in a way I never have before! Absolutely loved it! Cambridge dream taught me how to become a leader and make concrete plans: working with lots of young people forces you to take charge. It also helped my interpersonal skills as you bond with people you’ve literally never met before. I think the main thing the students gain is confidence as they become more sure of themselves and find their own identities away from home. I think many of them also made friends for life and really, what can be more valuable?

My time at Cambridge Dream was an incredible experience, as a mentor and a person. All the staff was unbelievably friendly and incredibly helpful, which made the work really enjoyable! The students who joined us were open-minded and curious, which made teaching my subject fun and easy! Working as a student mentor at Cambridge Dream allowed me to feel like I was helping young students understand more about British culture as well as university culture and enabled me to help them have a better idea of their intentions after school. It was a great experience and I look forward to helping more students!

I had an amazing time working at Cambridge Dream last year! The staff were supportive and the fellow mentors were great people to work with every day. It was a fantastic opportunity to engage with students from all across the world – my favourite sessions involved running a model UN debate and also teaching the students about sports leadership. The students were receptive and eager to learn about new subjects and university life in general, and were a pleasure to teach. The variety of the programme meant that the job was different everyday – something which I really enjoyed. As a mentor, the job is highly rewarding and I feel that I improved my communication and leadership skills greatly over the course of the programme.
